Description: This 8" resin/polyresin statue honors Our Lady of Charity, also known as Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre, patroness of Cuba. According to tradition, in the 17th century three men — known as "the three Juans": Juan Moreno, an African slave, and brothers Juan and Rodrigo de Hoyos, two indigenous fishermen — found an image floating in the sea, said to be intact despite the waves and bearing the inscription "I am the Virgin of Charity." The image was brought to the mining town of El Cobre, where a sanctuary (today a basilica) was built in her honor, and her devotion spread across the island, becoming a lasting symbol of hope and unity for Cubans. Made of resin/polyresin and intended for indoor use, this statue makes a meaningful devotional piece or thoughtful gift.
