Description
La Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre, Our Lady of Charity, is the most beloved Virgin of Cuba and the patroness of the island. In almost every Cuban family you'll find her image, especially here in South Florida, where the Cuban-American community honors her at La Ermita de la Caridad, her shrine in Miami right next to Biscayne Bay.
This statue shows the crowned Virgin holding the Child Jesus above the waves, with the three Juans praying in their boat, just as tradition tells of the image found floating at sea. It's made for us by our partner workshop in Lucca, Italy, cast in a traditional plaster mold, finished by a local artist and painted at the shop by artisans who have worked there for many years.
- Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre with the three Juans, hand-painted in Italy
- Sizes: 8" and 12"
- Includes a prayer booklet and a small rosary as our gift
- Item SRCARCOBR
