Esta imagen representa el momento del hallazgo de la Virgen de la Caridad: “Corría el siglo XVII, donde tres hombres, conocidos como «los tres Juanes», encontraron una imagen flotando en el mar. Estos hombres eran Juan Moreno, un esclavo africano, y dos hermanos indígenas, Juan y Rodrigo de Hoyos. Según la tradición, la imagen estaba intacta a pesar del oleaje y llevaba una inscripción que decía: «Yo soy la Virgen de la Caridad”. Este hallazgo milagroso rápidamente se convirtió en objeto de veneración entre los habitantes de la región. La Virgen fue trasladada al poblado minero de El Cobre, donde se le construyó un pequeño santuario, hoy basilica. Con el tiempo, su culto se expandió por toda la isla, convirtiéndose en un símbolo de esperanza y unidad para los cubanos.
